Nisab
Nisab is the minimum threshold of wealth at which zakat becomes obligatory. For gold, the standard view is 85 grams of pure (24K) gold. For silver, it is 595 grams of pure silver. Each metal is checked against its own nisab; zakat is estimated only on metals that meet theirs.
Haul
Haul is the passage of one full lunar (Hijri) year during which your zakatable wealth remains at or above nisab. Zakat is due only after haul is complete.
Zakat on Gold & Silver
Gold and silver held as investment wealth are subject to zakat at 2.5% of their market value when nisab and haul are satisfied for that metal. Purity is factored in — 22K gold is assessed at its pure gold content.
Worn jewellery
Scholars differ on jewellery a woman actually wears. This calculator does not apply that distinction — it treats entered holdings as zakatable wealth. Ask a qualified scholar for your case.
